I’ve tried 10 different delivery companies in the name of finding the best fruit box for me on the whole South East side of Melbourne. By then end of my experiment, I was feeling a bit browned off and spotty like some of those bananas. I’ve been able to rule out 3 companies for you as being really poor quality, and not worth your time. In the other categories I’ve put together, you’ve got some great choices depending on what you are looking for. If you aren’t sure, you can check out each of my individual reviews over the last couple of months.

My personal choice here would be between from the earth fruitnveg (review 1 / review 2) ($35, 9 varieties / $30, 10 varieties) and Ceres Fair Food ($46, 9 varieties).

Thanks to the fantastic customer service I received with from the earth fruitnveg (and the slightly cheaper price), that’s the company I’m going to be going with. Michael cares about his customers, and takes the time to source delicious fruit that everyone can enjoy.

If you are passionate about having a big variety of organic produce, you’ll want to check out these two:

Organic Angels ($55, 7 varieties) and the equally good Greenline Organic (~$50, 9 varieties). Take your pick here, it could be that in your area you want to make sure that you have a good delivery day that suits you.

Two companies just had very boring, but otherwise good quality produce. If you just like apples, oranges and nothing fancy you have two options, both organic.

The Organic Empire ($55, 5 varieties) and Earth & Sky Organics ($46, 6 varieties).

Three clear losers fell out from my analysis.

Both Aussie Farmers Direct ($22, 7 varieties) and Real Food Grocer/Mornington Peninsula Cheap Fruit & Veg ($27, 11 varieties) had poor quality fruit, some of which was completely inedible. In this case, getting ‘cheap’ fruit was a complete waste of money.

The other company in this bracket was The Organic Butler ($70, 6 varieties). The fruit here either never ripened, or took a long time to become edible (before quickly giving way). As my dad pointed out, it’s not the Butler’s normal responsibility to choose the fruit!

Rundown in alphabetical order:

Aussie Farmers Direct ($22, 7 varieties) [poor quality produce – do not recommend]

Ceres Fair Food ($46, 9 varieties)

from the earth fruitnveg (review 1 / review 2) ($35, 9 varieties / $30, 10 varieties)

Earth & Sky Organics ($46, 6 varieties)

Greenline Organic (~$50, 9 varieties)

Organic Angels ($55, 7 varieties)

The Organic Butler ($70, 6 varieties) [poor quality produce – do not recommend]

The Organic Empire ($55, 5 varieties)

Real Food Grocer/Mornington Peninsula Cheap Fruit & Veg ($27, 11 varieties) [poor quality produce – do not recommend]

I’m exhausted.
